Colour Splicing

Pictures taken in Toronto's Nation Art Gallery wooden staircase. These forms have been spliced sharply with geometric shapes of colour, to give presidence to the fluidity of the natural wood. The pastel tones gives them an interesting floral presence.

-Blinded by the Light
Carlo Uses an undesirable byproduct to convert a stuffed still life into a fantasy land. Careful placement of artifacts gives these static scenes instant life. This breaths great potential into manipulating the still life scene in museums, an interesting new playground.

Body Parts: The Ears

By Zeus Rodman

This short film is about how our ears translate music to the brain. We used a cornstarch mixture to show how the ear reacts to alternating frequencies. These make the compound sway and morph, much like how sounds move the hairs in our cochlea, creating a different electrical message. we recorded this response to music by adding black ink to the corn starch compound and running paper along the top as it was reacting.

St Bride Type Library : The Slab Serif

I went to St Bride Library to do some research the slab serif. They have a huge collection of information, to much for me to read in one day.

Common Beauty

by Zeus Rodman.

An investigation of condensated water patterns and the structural form of car windows. I used a Nikon 85mm f1.8 lens, the shallow depth of field and the sharpness of this lens helped me capture the fine detail in these small droplets of water.

I was surprised to find such fine beautiful detail in an environment that i would normally overlook. I've seen plenty of car windows in my time, but its eye-opening to adjust my perspective slightly and see beauty in something as common as a car.
