Body Parts: The Ears

By Zeus Rodman

This short film is about how our ears translate music to the brain. We used a cornstarch mixture to show how the ear reacts to alternating frequencies. These make the compound sway and morph, much like how sounds move the hairs in our cochlea, creating a different electrical message. we recorded this response to music by adding black ink to the corn starch compound and running paper along the top as it was reacting.
